Girls Varsity Volleyball @Ramaz Semifinals

It was a tough match up vs the number 2 seeded Ramaz Rams.  The girls have never beaten Ramaz in the regular season so it was time for redemption.  It started out smooth sailing when the team took the first match controlling their position and serve, winning the set  21-12.  In the second set, with a few missed passes and serves, Ramaz was able to take the second game 21-15. In the third match, Sofia Schrieber had some great saves in the back row to keep the game alive for the sting.  Then the girls settled down and fixed some of their mistakes to come back and win  21-19.  Into the 4th match we go and the SAR sting girls seemed to want it more. They showed great teamwork, spot on passing and superb spiking by Abby Epstein and Talya Koschitzky. This allowed them to take the fourth game and the ultimate victory by winning 21-17.  It was a total team effort that kept the team going with great spirit and intensity.  They move on to the Championship game which is 3/15 Sunday @ 7:30pm (team TBD and Place TBD).  Come cheer on the Sting girls on Sunday...Its going to be electric!!

JV Boys Basketball vs Heschel

SAR JV Boys Basketball beat Heschel tonight, 40-30, raising its record to 8-1.  SAR was led by Daniel Wisotsky's 15 points and Sammy Sokol's 10.  Down 4 in a sloppy first half, SAR switched to a press in the second half and the players' energy level was raised.  Zach Reich provided an incredible spark off the bench, lifting SAR to victory with clutch layups, defensive rebounds, and heady play overall.  SAR plays at MTA in the season finale next week and a win would clinch the #1 seed in the conference for the Sting.
