Last
night, the SAR JV Boys Basketball team played an exhibition game at JEC. The
matchup was always close and was bound to come down to the wire. Late in the 4th quarter
JEC took a commanding lead but Noah “THE CLUTCH” Gurin hit a
straightaway three to send the game into overtime. As the overtime clock
was running down, SAR was down 48-46. Rushing the ball up the court SAR looked
nowhere but to their knockdown shooter Gurin. As he was wide open in the
corner, Gurin lined up for three and just as the great Paul Pierce once said,
he called game. “THE CLUTCH” hit it and the bench went wild as the Sting went
on to beat the JEC Thunder in stunning fashion 49-48. Led by Jake Schwalbe’s 15
and Noah Gurin’s 10, SAR has three more exhibition games to play.
