VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL BEATS NSHA IN OPENER OF PERESEASON TOURNAMENT

On Monday evening October 12^th, the SAR Varsity Boys Basketball team squared off with the NSHA stars in the first round of the annual Magen David (MDY) tournament. Being the first preseason game of the year, both teams were expected to come out very slow. That being said, both teams are without last years seniors, creating an even playing field. The game was at a steady pace, as neither team was able to blow open the lead in the 1^st half. Once the 2^nd half picked up, SAR was able to control the pace but also extend their lead. Led by starting center Rafi Kubersky’s 15 points, SAR defeated the stars 33-25, advancing to the next round of the tournament, where they would face off HAFTR.
