Sting Blow Out Lions Behind Mannis' Gem, Clutch Hitting

April 25th. 2014- On Friday, April 25th, the SAR JV Boys Softball Team defeated MTA, 10-0, to raise its record to 2-0. Starting pitcher Jake Mannis completed a gem, the Sting had outstanding fielding throughout, including sensational plays at third base by freshman Zach Reich, and sophomore captains Ariel Smith and Remy Neuhaus each hit home runs, with Ariel's being a grand slam and Remy's a three-run home run. Patience at the plate was apparent as SAR also drew six walks. With the season only lasting six games, each win is important as the JV squad hopes to make it to the league championship game for the third straight year.
