November 21st, 2013- In an early battle for first place the SAR Girls JV basketball team traveled out to Teaneck to take on a tough Maayanot team. A shaky start right from the jump-ball allowed Maayanot to lead by as many as 8 points in the first quarter. A buzzer-beater by Rebecca Kann before half-time pulled SAR to within two and gave them a glimmer of momentum heading into the second half. With three starters on the bench for almost the entire third quarter because of foul trouble, SAR still managed to keep the game within 2 points. In the fourth quarter, even with continued foul trouble, SAR clamped down on the defensive end holding Maayanot to one point in the entire quarter as they went on to grab a well earned 34-28 win.
