November 21, 2013- How would the SAR boys Varsity Hockey team do in response to an important divisional match up? How about a 5-1 win over the undefeated Frisch Cougars, who now fall to 4-1. Jesse Schanzer started the game with a backhanded goal just five minutes into the first period and the Sting did not look back after that. Two goals scored in the second period were scored by Seffi Jonas, and Jared Issac on a gorgeous backhand during a power play, as SAR started to pull away. The only thing that became problematic for SAR was that it picked up several unnecessary penalties. However, the kill was great, as phenomenal hustle and defense played by Jared Issac, Sam Schwalbe and Jacob Ungar kept Frisch well in check. Two more goals were tacked on in the third period by Jack Schwalbe and Seffi Jonas, his second of the evening. Gilad Fortgang led the team with a magnificent effort in goal, his best game of the season.
