November 21st, 2013- Varsity Girls Basketball dominated Maayanot last night by a score of 42-16. The Sting scored within seconds of the opening tip, and never looked back.
SAR was once again led by sophomore Dahlia Fischer. With senior point guard Sara Waxman not playing, Fischer saw an increase in playing time and made the most of it, scoring 14 points with relative ease and producing many highlight-worthy blocks and steals.
Seniors Samantha Hollenberg and Ali Trachtenberg also helped the cause by scoring eight and six points, respectively.
Overall, it was a terrific team effort, as nine of the eleven players scored. Maayanot simply had no answer for SAR, particularly in the second half, where they were outscored 20-4.
SAR has bounced back from their opening season loss by winning three straight to improve to 3-1. They look to continue their winning streak this Monday against HANC.
