October 30, 2013- In a 5-quarter exhibition game, DRS defeated the SAR JV Boys Basketball team 52-44. SAR was led in scoring by Eli Friedman's 9 points on three 3-pointers, Remy Nehaus' 8 points, and Ariel Smith's 7. The Sting had to play catch up from the start, falling behind early to a strong DRS lineup. After staring at a deficit, Coach Courtney called on his team to unleash some full court pressure on the Wildcats. The press was quite effective in stopping the initial bleeding and allowed the Sting to regain some composure. As for the half court defense, SAR's zone offered a new look to thwart the presence of DRS' 6"4 starting center and power forward. Overall, the team's preseason campaign was a success. The Sting look to begin the regular season with a bang as they take WHHS tomorrow night on the road at 7:15.
