October 27, 2013- SAR JV Girls Volleyball was victorious in its first game of the season against SKA, winning in straight sets, 21-14 and 21-18. In the first game, first server Jennifer Goldsmith scored seven total serving points for SAR, while Eva Spier served seven straight serving points for SAR, including three aces! Coming off of the bench, Yael Weitzner played her position very well, getting SAR back to serve and helping her squad maintain control of the match. In the second set, what proved to be the final one, Eva Spier served five straight points for SAR including two aces, and Alana Woloshin served three straight points. The set however was highlighted by tremendous saves in the back row by Amanda Klestzick and Eva Spier, giving SAR control of serve and eventually the win. Coach Gryzlo remarked on the win, "it was great team work". The Sting look to continue their early success as the season progresses.
