Varsity Boys Basketball vs. FRISCH

October 26, 2013- Varsity Boys Basketball fell just short to its rival Frisch by a final score of 58-51. The first half was played quite evenly between the two senior heavy teams. SAR took its first lead of the game with about three minutes left in the halg, grabbing 16-14 lead. However, SAR lost momentum and gave up an 8-0 run, making the score 22-16 going to the locker rooms. The momentum continued early in the second half for Frisch, as the lead grew to a commanding 19 point lead. The fire never seemed to completely burn out though for the Sting. A ferocious run of their own cut the lead all the way down to five points with 22 seconds left in the ball game. Sadly though, it was too little too late. Two free throws by The Cougars iced the game, and The Sting went down. There were some positives to take away from the game though, as SAR really never gave up and fought valiantly until the final whistle. Also, The Sting shot tremendously well from the charity stripe. Sammy Hyman led the Sting in scoring with 17 points, Marcus had 13, and Wohlberg chipped in 11.The Sting look to take the positives from this game as positive momentum heading into the rest of the season.
