October 17, 2013- SAR Varsity boys hockey opened up its regular season with a tough 2-1 loss at JEC. The Sting had numerous scoring chances, but failed to capitalize. JEC's goalie by all accounts played an almost unblemished game. Almost. Senior Captain Zachary Okun ripped a shot for his first goal of the season. This however was the Sting's only real highlight. The Sting played very flat, and went home with a defeat. It's early though, and the Sting look to pick up their first win and commence with its campaign. On a lighter note though, Sting Report would like to send out a Mazal Tov on behalf of all of Sting Nation to Coach Howie and Rachel Falkenstein on the birth of a baby boy! May he one day grow to be a Sting Great!
